Burnt but not Shrivelled

I’ve been burnt,
The skin’s starting to peel,
Red raw pinky flesh,
Is this real?

I’ve spent hours in the sunshine,
Only to be clouded by night,
Thoughts of him creep in,
Will I sleep tonight?

I’ve been lied to before,
Constant cause of anxiety,
Honesty is hard to come by,
Trust me?

I’ve experience pure bliss,
Bringing nothing but joy,
I’ve experienced pure horror,
Tell me, what scares you more?

I’ve come to a cross roads,
Tough decisions to make,
The journey beginning,
Perhaps it’s been never ending?

I’ve been burnt,
The skin is still raw,
Slowly healing,
I can ask for nothing more.
